The English Book Club is open to advanced level and native English speakers and focuses on one book each month.
In October, we will discuss Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead. The book won the National Book Award 2016 and the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction 2017.
Summary : Cora is approaching womanhood, a slave on a cotton plantation in Georgia, an outcast among her fellow Africans. When Caesar, a slave recently arrived from Virginia, tells her about the Underground Railroad, they take the perilous decision to escape to the North.
