The English Book Club is open to advanced level and native English speakers and focuses on one book each month.
The first novel for nex year is The Noise of Time by English author Julian Barnes.
Summary : Barnes elegantly guides us through the trajectory of Dmitri Shostakovich's career, as of 1936, at the same time illuminating the tumultuous evolution of the Soviet Union under Staline and Khrouchtchev. The result is both a stunning portrait of a fascinating man and a brilliant exploration of the meaning of art and its place in society.
